Terms & Conditions For Splitter Bus Rental

BOOKING DEPOSIT:

To secure and confirm your booking we require a standard deposit of 10% of the hire cost to be paid on credit/debit card. You can also pay the deposit via transfer, cheque or cash. Full payment by credit/debit card, bank transfer, cheque or cash must be received in advance or on collection of the vehicle. We will also need a copy of your drivers licence and a current utility bill. Hire cost to be paid via Paypal.

SECURITY DEPOSIT:

€500 must be held in the event of any loss or damage to the vehicle. this must be payed in cash or bank draft on the collection of the vehicle. Full payment by credit/debit card, bank transfer, cheque or cash must be received in advance or on collection of the vehicle.

DRIVERS AND INSURANCE:

Drivers must be over 25 and under the age of 70 years have held a licence longer than 2 years. Drivers must also have no more than 5 points in the last 5 years or have any convictions for drink driving or driving without insurance. You must transfer your own insurance cover to this vehicle. We will need to see confirmation that the insurance in in place from your insurer for the hire period (i will forward you vehicle details at time of booking)Insurance must be fully comprehensive and driver must be named on the policy.

VEHICLE COLLECTION AND RETURN:

We prefer it if you can collect the vehicle from our HQ at Kilcoole industrial estate Co Wicklow (25 mins from red cow) However, we can. Alternatively, we can deliver and collect it to/from you, approximate cost of delivery/collection within Dublin is €70 The vehicle must be returned to Kilcoole unless previously agreed. Van hire is from 10am to 10am.

DRIVING IN EUROPE:

Yes you can take the vehicle to UK and in to Europe but you must let your insurance company know.Vehicles are fully covered by AA breakdown for both the UK and the rest of Europe. Satellite Navigation systems for both UK and Europe are available to hire at no extra cost. “5 Star AA European Breakdown cover” must be obtained by the hirer.

DAMAGE AND FINES:

It is the hirer’s responsibility to pay for vehicle damage including damaged windows, tyres and interior fittings. It is the hirer’s responsibility to pay for all parking and traffic fines. For further information please read the below hirer’s responsibilities.

DRIVERS RESPONSIBILITY

1. Traffic Ticket/Offences:

a) Red Route Offences

Any unpaid charge referred to SVI will be passed onto the hirer with a €20 admin fee added.

b) Bus Lane Offences

Any unpaid charge referred to SVI will be passed onto the hirer with a €20 admin fee added.

c) Parking / Speeding Tickets

The Hirer(s) agree(s) to take full responsibility for these whilst the vehicle is in their possession. The hirer’s details will be passed onto the appropriate authority.

d) Any traffic offence outside the UK

Any charges referred to SVI will be passed onto the hirer with a €30 admin fee added.

2. Traffic Accidents

Any accident involving a third party is to be notified immediately to SVI. Liability is not to be admitted or discussed with any third party. The hirer must provide the third party and/or any law enforcement officers with the driver’s details. The hirer must take the third party’s details and pass them onto SVI.

3. €500 Deposit

The deposit is held/charged against the following:

a) Regarding the hire vehicle.

All loss / damage to bodywork / glass / interior / vehicle structure / fittings / spare wheel / supplied tools etc

Loss / damage to audio/visual/WiFi/Playstation equipment

Tyre damage (wear and tear excepted)

b) Regarding 3rd parties:

Injury to third parties and their vehicles

c) Late return of hired vehicle

d) Return of the vehicle in a condition requiring an unusual amount of cleaning/ valeting.

4. Breakdown

In the event of a breakdown, SVI will endeavor to offer assistance with the arrangements for vehicle repair, and will endeavor within reason and at its absolute discretion to provide a replacement vehicle if the hired vehicle is unusable for an extended period of time. No liability whatsoever is accepted for consequential losses or inconvenience of any kind.

5. Breakdown cover

Vehicles are fully covered by the AA for use both within the UK and Ireland. Outside IRL/UK “5 Star AA European Breakdown cover” must be obtained by the hirer.

6. Incorrect Fuel

The hired vehicle’s fuel type will be clearly marked. If in doubt please check with the company. The company will be entitled to charge the hirer all costs resulting from filling with inappropriate fuel.

7. Engine / Mechanical Damage

The hirer will be responsible for all costs relating to the following: a) Failure to maintain correct oil and water levels b) Incorrect fuel c) Continuing to drive whilst there is an obvious problem.

8. Travel Outside of Ireland

The hirer is responsible for providing accessories that may be required by foreign countries, such as warning triangle, spare bulb kits etc. However, most of our vehicles do already have the necessary kit. Please check on collection.

9. Late Return

The vehicle is due back to SVI by 10 am prompt on the return day, unless otherwise agreed. Late return may result in an extra day’s hire being charged.

10. Out-Of-Hours Return

It may be possible to return the vehicle out of hours but ONLY if previously agreed, please check in advance of your return.

SELF DRIVE IN SUMMERY:

A copy of your drivers licence and a current utility bill

Confirmation that the insurance in in place from your insurer for the hire period

Insurance must be fully comprehensive and driver must be named on the policy

Driver must be over the age of 25 years and under the age of 70 years

Driver must hold a full clean driving licence for over 2 years

You must inform your insurer that you will be driving outside of your own country

10% booking deposit must be paid to secure booking

The full cost of the hire must be paid on collection of the vehicle via bank draft or cash

You can pay for hire via bank transfer but it must be cleared one week before the hire period

A €500 bank draft or cash security deposit must be paid on the collection on the vehicle, This is in the event of any loss or damage and will be refunded to you on the return of the vehicle. Van hire is from 10am to 10am deductions will be made from the deposit if the interior of the van is returned in a unacceptable condition.
